Managing Director - Mike Hodson
Educated at Dunsmore School for Boys, Keele University and Manchester University, Mike began his career with British rail in 1974 and held a number of area management jobs in Cambridgeshire, Derbyshire, Essex, North, South and West Yorkshire. After a period as the Operations Planning Manager for the Eastern Region of BR, Mike switched to a new role as Commercial Director within the new Regional Railways sector prior to privatisation. Continuing in this mode he was appointed Commercial Director of Thames Trains in 2000 and later Managing Director. Most recently Mike was Operations & Safety Director at Southeastern.
Operations & Safety Director - Wallace Weatherill
Wallace has worked in the railway industry for 22 years, having started in Watford as a trainee in 1987. He progressed through front-line traincrew roles at Bletchley and became a Trains Inspector in 1992. He then worked for Intercity and Great Western Trains and latterly with Railtrack and Network Rail. Most recently Wallace was the Head of Operations and Planning and then acting Director of Operations and Safety at Southeastern.
Finance & Contracts Director - Julian Edwards
Before joining London Midland, Julian was Finance Director for Central Trains and Wessex Trains, and Financial Controller for Wales and Borders/Wessex Trains. He also worked extensively on numerous rail bids both as a Finance Director and in an overall Bid Director capacity. Julian is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
Commercial Director - Alex Hynes
Alex joined London Midland at the start of the franchise in November 2007. He is responsible for stations (facilities and retail), revenue management, marketing, revenue protection and service quality. Prior to this he worked for London Midland's parent company, the Go-Ahead Group and was a member of the winning Southeastern and London Midland bid teams specialising in customer service and commercial strategy development. An economist by profession, Alex previously worked for Halcrow and the Office of Rail Regulation.
Programme Director - Mike Haigh
Mike joined the rail industry in 1980 as a British Rail management trainee. His career has included spells as a Rolling Stock Manager and Account Manager for Centro and Central Trains. He was appointed Commercial Director for Central Trains in 2001 and was later its Deputy Managing Director. He took up his post with London Midland at the start of the franchise in November 2007.
Head of Human Resources - Geraldine Goddard
Geraldine joined London Midland in March; prior to this she worked at PepsiCo International UK and Ireland where she was Organisational Capability Director. Geraldine has a wealth of experience in senior HR and organisational development roles in the food and drinks industries.
Engineering Director - Mac Mackintosh
Mac is highly experienced and respected within the rail industry and is currently managing and directing the London Midland engineering teams.
