**UPDATE - Line reopened at 1100hrs. Apologies for any disruption to your journey and thank you for your patience**
Due to extensive damage to the overhead power lines near Acton Bridge, trains are unable to run between Crewe and Liverpool. Network Rail engineers are on the scene making repairs, but the line is expected to remain blocked until approximately 1100hrs. We're very sorry for any disruption to your journey.
Alternatives
During the disruption, our Birmingham to Liverpool services will only run between Birmingham and Crewe.
There are two main routes available between Crewe and Liverpool: Crewe-Chester/Chester-Liverpool, and Crewe-Manchester/Manchester-Liverpool. Both of these will extend your journey by around an hour.
Tickets are being accepted by other operators as follows:
Liverpool to Chester: Merseyrail
Liverpool to Liverpool South Parkway: First Transpennine Express, Northern
Liverpool to Manchester: First Transpennine Express, Northern
Chester to Crewe: Arriva Trains Wales, Virgin
Manchester to Crewe: Arriva Trains Wales, CrossCountry, Northern, Virgin
Replacement road transport
Coaches have been ordered to run between Crewe and Liverpool; however if you are travelling from intermediate stations, our local teams are co-ordinating alternatives.
