London Midland introduces new early morning Crewe services in December timetable

Date: 01 Dec 2010

London Midland is making some changes to its timetable from December 12, including the introduction of new early morning services from Crewe.

On weekdays a Crewe to Liverpool service, via Runcorn and Liverpool South Parkway, (departing Crewe at 05.40) will be introduced, along with a weekday Trent Valley line service departing Crewe for Rugby at 05.18.

On Saturdays between Crewe and Liverpool, there will be two additional trains at 05.48 and 06.12 also calling at Runcorn and Liverpool South Parkway.

The leaf-fall timetable finishes on Birmingham's Cross City service (between New Street and Longbridge), offering improved performance as the new timetable begins with minor adjustments to train times. On Sundays there will be an additional train from Birmingham to Redditch at 08.55 which only calls at University and Longbridge.

On Saturdays there will be a new train from Worcester Shrub Hill to Birmingham New Street at 06.07, calling only at Droitwich Spa. On Sundays there will be a new train from Birmingham New Street to Worcester Shrub Hill at 22.05, calling only at Droitwich Spa.

Monday to Friday, the 21.52 from Worcester Shrub Hill to Dorridge will be extended to Leamington Spa, calling at Lapworth, Hatton, Warwick Parkway and Warwick.

The 17.46 Monday to Friday train from London Euston to Northampton will be extended to Birmingham New Street as a through train.

External funding of additional Chase Line services has been withdrawn.  There will be only one train per hour between Birmingham New St and Rugeley Trent Valley off peak on weekdays. The other service, of the present two per hour, will only operate between Birmingham New St and Walsall.

On Saturdays there will be one train per hour from Birmingham Snow Hill to Stratford-upon-Avon rather than the two which operated during the summer timetable.
