The world's first museum dedicated to all matters pertaining to
the fan houses an internationally renowned collection of fans, fan
leaves and related material, including 17th century French fan
leaves and important works by artists such as Paul Gauguin and
Walter Sickert; thematic temporary exhibitions change approximately
every 4 months. Of course, there is much more to this incomparable
museum than fans alone! On Tuesday and Sundays from 3pm, visitors
to the museum can enjoy a traditional afternoon tea served within
the elegant surrounds of the museum's Orangery (booking advisable),
whilst group tours, led by the museum's experienced curators, make
for an entertaining yet educative way to see The Fan Museum and
learn something of its history and of the art of fan-making.
Afternoon tea or similar refreshments can also be arranged for
group bookings.
