We are happy to allow most photography on our stations, but we don't allow commercial or news photography, or videoing, on our trains.
Photography
For commercial shoots:
- check whether it's one of our stations
- email us to outline what you'll be doing
If we agree to your request, we'll send you a Letter of Permission, which includes the rules and regulations you must follow on our premises:
- report to the station office on arrival at staffed stations, and be ready to show them the Letter of Permission on request
- work handheld or on a tripod - no lights
- don't use flash photography round trains as it may dazzle the driver
- only photograph passengers and staff with their permission
News crews
News crews (a maximum of one camera, reporter, producer/runner) should contact the Communications Team to arrange shooting at our stations. You will also need a permission letter from us and report to the station office on arrival at staffed stations.
Documentaries and Drama
Our passengers are our primary focus, so we employ a location management agency to make sure the inevitable disruption caused by drama or documentary production, whatever the scale, doesn't affect our services.
Unfortunately, this cost means we have to charge a fee, which starts at £1000. Please email us for more information.
