London Midland Managing Director, Steve Banaghan today apologised to passengers affected by last night's delays on services from Birmingham Snow Hill station.
"I am sincerely sorry for the problems passengers experienced yesterday evening on our services from Snow Hill station. There were a number of technical faults that occured with some of the trains due to be in service last night, which ended up with a train broken down in the tunnel just outside the station.
"Moving the broken-down train and getting the services back into full operation meant a large number of our passengers had a delayed, crowded and frustrated journey home last night and after the recent problems with new signals and equipment installed by Network Rail last week, we have badly let our passengers down recently. We are now urgently reviewing exactly why we had the major delays last night and I can assure passengers that this is receiving my own personal attention. We will get things right for Snow Hill services from now on."
Passengers should contact the company's Customer Relations team who will be able to help with compensation for delayed or cancelled journeys.
