Changes to London Midland's Easter services

Date: 05 Mar 2008

Buses will replace some London Midland trains this Easter and a Saturday timetable will operate on various services on Tuesday 25th March.  These measures will enable Network Rail to carry out improvements to the railway.

  • From Good Friday until Tuesday 25 March (inclusive) buses will replace trains on the Trent Valley Line between Rugby and Stafford.
  • From Good Friday to Easter Monday (inclusive) buses will replace trains between Walsall, Rugeley and Stafford, and between Watford Junction and St Albans Abbey.
  • On Tuesday 25 March there will be no trains between Walsall and Wolverhampton. Tickets will be valid for the Travel West Midlands 529 bus.
  • On Tuesday 25 March train services will follow the Saturday timetable:
  • between Northampton and Birmingham,
  • between Liverpool and Birmingham and
  • on the Cross City Line between Lichfield and Redditch.

These changes are in addition to buses replacing trains on West Coast Mainline services between Coventry and London Euston over Easter weekend, announced last week.

More details of all these changes are on London Midland's website, http://www.londonmidland.com or available from our customer relations team on 0845 602 4277  or from National Rail Enquiries on 0845 7 48 49 50, at http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/.

London Midland's Operations Director Andy Thomas said: "We are working closely with Network Rail and other organisations to keep disruption to a minimum - for instance by scheduling the closure for Easter weekend when we know fewer people travel - but we apologise for the inevitable inconvenience.

"Please allow more time for your journey, and check in advance with National Rail Enquiries whether your plans will be affected."
