London Midland introduced its leaf fall timetable, which takes into account allows for changes caused by dealing with ice and leaves on the line, on 27 October.
As in previous years, the new timetable will allow passengers to plan their travel, and ensure that they can make their connections. The changes to train times can be checked at stations, online or on phone booking services (details below).
Leaves falling onto tracks get compacted as trains run over them, and become as slippery as ice. London Midland, like other rail companies, trains its drivers to deal with these conditions but inevitably this means less speed and slightly longer journey times.
London Midland is working closely with Network Rail to minimise the effects of the weather on services.
London Midland managing director Stephen Banaghan said: "Just like cars, trains have to slow down to negotiate slippery ice and leaves safely, and the timetable means some trains will leave a few minutes early or arrive a few minutes later than usual.
"This timetable means passengers will be able to take this into account, and continue to make connections to other services."
