New services, new trains, new routes

London Midland launches its new timetable from December 14, with dozens of new services, a brand new fleet of trains and new routes.

For the first time, the London Midland will be operating direct services between London and Birmingham along with a number of other key services which the franchise is based around.

From December 14, London Midland's new timetable will include:

  • new direct London Euston - Birmingham services
  • new direct services connecting stations along the Trent Valley, Staffordshire and the north west with London
  • doubling of services between Birmingham and Liverpool
  • new services to Gloucester and Worcester
  • extra evening and weekend services in the West Midlands
  • longer train at peak periods on the busiest routes
  • more long distance services mark the start of London Midland's key role in the rail industry
  • £190 million investment in 37 4-carriage Desiros, as well as refurbishing existing fleet and set to benefit from HLOS
  • The new services out of London will bring economic benefits to leading regional centres, linking England's first and second cities
