London Midland Black Country stations receive security awards

Date: 25 Sep 2009

Three London Midland stations in the Black Country have received rail industry security awards.

Coseley, Dudley Port and Sandwell & Dudley have all received Secure Stations certificates after being assessed for station, staff and passenger security by the British Transport Police.

London Midland commercial director, Alex Hynes, said: “London Midland is investing millions of pounds in improving our stations and car parks, as well as refurbishing our train fleet.

“We recently completed our £190m investment in a fleet of 37 new, air-conditioned Siemens Desiro trains, many of which serve Coseley and Sandwell & Dudley. We realise how important security and a pleasant environment is to passengers, so these awards are recognition of the progress we’re making.”
