Revised timetables will be in operation on our Birmingham Cross-City (Redditch - Birmingham - Lichfield) and Abbey Flyer (Watford Junction - St Albans) routes between 26 October and 13 December. Many trains will leave stations earlier or later than usual.
Extra time is allowed for each journey to take account of the different driving conditions caused by the autumn leaf fall. When wet leaves are crushed onto the railway tracks by passing trains, they transform into a hard, slippery surface, similar to black ice.
Changing our timetables on the worst affected routes means that our drivers have a much better chance of keeping to time so that services can run smoothly and without disruption.
The revised times are already shown in our printed booklets, although you can also find them on the timetable section of our website. Alternatively, visit our online journey planner or download a timetable for your own personal journey.
For those travelling on the Birmingham Cross-City line, don't forget we also publish details of which commuter trains have spare seats from a number of our busiest stations.
