London Midland’s Watford Junction station receives security award

Date: 13 Oct 2009

London Midland’s Watford Junction station has received a rail industry security award after being assessed for station, staff and passenger security by the British Transport Police.

London Midland commercial director, Alex Hynes, said: “London Midland is investing millions of pounds in improving our stations and car parks, as well as refurbishing our train fleet.

“We recently completed our £190m investment in a fleet of 37 new, air-conditioned Siemens Desiro trains, many of which serve Watford Junction. We realise how important security and a pleasant environment is to passengers, so these awards are recognition of the progress we’re making.”

London Midland has also announced a further five services calling at Watford at peak times and providing 1,600 more seats for London commuters.
