Birmingham to London every 20 minutes

More trains, more seats, more choice!

In September 2011, we increased the number of direct trains between the West Midlands and London Euston (via Rugby, Northampton and Milton Keynes). This included adding hundreds of extra seats to many off-peak trains between Northampton and London.

Up to 3 trains an hour now run between Birmingham and London at off-peak times, Mondays to Saturdays, with an hourly service on Sundays. Fastest journey times are now just over 2 hours.

Simply click here for a leaflet showing the improvements between Birmingham/Coventry and London, or click here for the full timetable between Birmingham, Rugby, Northampton, Milton Keynes and London.

Fares between West Midlands and London

Just because we've increased the service, it doesn't mean we'll be introducing huge price rises as well (unlike some operators to London): you'll still be able to get a return ticket from Birmingham to London on the day from just £20 return (or click the link above to pay even less!):

Advance single from £6
Super Off-Peak return £20
Off-Peak Return £27
Anytime Return £65
First Class Return £90

Fares including return train travel and unlimited use of London's buses and Tubes

Off-Peak Day Travelcard £31
Anytime Day Travelcard £70

GroupSave

If you're in a small group, 3 or 4 people can travel off-peak for the price of 2, plus children go for just £1 each. Ask at the station for a GroupSave ticket (no advance booking required)

e.g. a group of 4 adults and 4 children could get to London for a total of £58 return, or just £66 including unlimited travel on London's buses and Tubes.

Time restrictions when using off-peak tickets

Advance tickets are quota controlled, but subject to availability they can be booked up to 2359hrs on the day before travel.

Off-Peak tickets can be used on any London Midland train at the weekend, or on those due to arrive at Euston after 1000hrs on weekdays. You can return from Euston at any time.

Please note: if you are not travelling back to the Midlands, most Off-Peak tickets are not valid on trains leaving London Euston from 1645hrs- 1845hrs (changing to 1645hrs-1900hrs on 3 January 2012). Please click here for details.

Super Off-Peak tickets can be used on any London Midland train at the weekend, or on those due to arrive at Euston after 1300hrs on weekdays. Coming back from London, there are no time restrictions at weekends, but on weekdays you can leave London between 1030-1630hrs or after 1930hrs.
