EngineeringWe're constantly working to improve our services which means engineering work is carried out on an ongoing basis. We do our best to minimise the effects on services.

This page contains details of planned changes to our timetables over the next few weeks due to engineering works as well as amends due to Bank Holidays or special events (football matches, concerts, exhibitions, festivals, Wembley events). Mondays to Fridays from 13 January until 16 May

The 1550 Lichfield Trent Valley to Longbridge service (1554 Lichfield City) will call additionally at Shenstone at 1559.

From Sunday 2 March

Following customer feedback the Stourbridge Junction to Stourbridge Town (Town Car) timetable will be amended from 2 March to connect with mainline trains.  New timetable here.

Tuesday 22 - Friday 25 April 

Due to planned engineering work the 05.16 Rugby to London Euston service will start from Northampton (at 05.46).

A rail replacement bus will operate between Rugby and Northampton - departing from Rugby at 04.46, Long Buckby at 05.11, arriving at Northampton at 05.36 (to connect with the train).

Tuesday 22 - Thursday 24 April

Due to planned engineering work the 22.54 Birmingham New Street to Northampton train will not run.
Passengers are advised to travel on alternative services as shown on the timetable attached.

A rail replacement bus will operate between Rugby and Northampton - departing from Rugby at 23.50, Long Buckby at 00.15, arriving at Northampton at 00.40.

Sunday 27 April

Due to planned engineering work the following alterations to trains between Crewe and Northampton / London Euston will apply :

  • The 09.38 Northampton to Crewe service is retimed to depart slightly earlier from Northampton (at 09.36) and from Long Buckby (at 09.47).
  • The 10.37 Crewe to London Euston service is retimed to run later between Stafford and Northampton - departing from Stafford at 11.29, Rugeley Trent Valley at 11.38, Lichfield Trent Valley at 11.46, Tamworth at 11.52, Atherstone at 12.01, Nuneaton at 12.08, Rugby at 12.24, Long Buckby at 12.33, arriving at Northampton at 12.45.

Due to planned engineering work the following train service alterations will apply :

  • The 09.14 Birmingham New Street to London Euston service is retimed to run later between Coventry and Northampton - departing from Coventry at 09.45, Rugby at 10.04, Long Buckby at 10.14, arriving at Northampton at 10.27.
  • The 10.14 Birmingham New Street to London Euston service is retimed to run later between Coventry and Northampton - departing from Coventry at 10.44, Rugby at 11.01, Long Buckby at 11.11, arriving at Northampton at 11.22.

Monday 28 April

Due to planned engineering work the following train service alterations will apply :

  • The 20.34 London Euston to Tring service will not run. Passengers are advised to travel on the 20.24 London Euston to Milton Keynes Central train - calling at Watford Junction at 20.43, Hemel Hempstead at 20.51, Berkhamsted at 20.57, arriving at Tring at 21.02, OR the 21.05 London Euston to Bletchley train - calling at Harrow & Wealdstone at 21.18, Bushey at 21.23, Watford Junction at 21.26, Kings Langley at 21.31, Apsley at 21.34, Hemel Hempstead at 21.37, Berkhamsted at 21.42, arriving at Tring at 21.47.
  • The 21.26 Tring to London Euston service will not run.   • The 23.34 London Euston to Milton Keynes Central service will call at Bushey to set down only.
  • The 00.34 London Euston to Milton Keynes Central service (Tue 29th) will call at Bushey to set down only.

Friday 2 May

The 2113 London Euston to Birmingham New Street service is retimed to run later between Birmingham International and Birmingham New Street - departing from Birmingham International at 2319, Marston Green at 2322, arriving Birmingham New Street at 2331.

The 2256 Lichfield Trent Valley to Longbridge service is retimed to run later between Birmingham New Stret and Longbridge - departing from Birmingham New Street at 2337, Five Ways at 2340, University at 2344, Selly Oak at 2349, Kings Norton at 2351, Northfield at 2354, arriving at Longbridge at 2358.

Concert - McBusted at The LG Arena, Birmingham. The 2310 Birmingham International to Birmingham New Street service is retimed to run later - departing from Birmingham International at 2319, calling at Marston Green at 2322, arriving at Birmingham New Street at 2331.

Saturday 3 May

Due to engineering work train services between Watford Junction and St Albans Abbey will not run. Rail replacement buses will operate. Full details here.

Due to engineering work there is no train service between Hemel Hempstead and London Euston. For full details, please visit londonmidland.com/watford.

Football - Aston Villa v Hull City at Villa Park, kick off 1500hrs. The following additional services will run after the match. Departing Witton at 1705 & 1717, arriving Birmingham New Street 1740 & 1749.

Football - Walsall v Colchester United at Banks's Stadium, kick off 1500hrs. Details of services calling additionally at Bescot Stadium before and after the match here.

Sunday 4 May

Due to engineering work train services between Watford Junction and St Albans Abbey will not run. Rail replacement buses will operate. Full details here.

Due to engineering work there is no train service between Northampton/Hemel Hempstead and London Euston. For full details, please visit londonmidland.com/watford.

Due to engineering work train services between Birmingham New Street/Crewe and Liverpool Lime Street will run between Birmingham New Street/Crewe and Liverpool South Parkway only. Passengers are advised to travel on Merseyrail train services between Liverpool South Parkway and Liverpool arriving at and departing from Liverpool Central Station - full details here.

Monday 5 May - Bank Holiday Monday

Euston Line

Due to engineering work there is no train service between Hemel Hempstead and London Euston. For full details, please visit londonmidland.com/watford.

Abbey Line

Due to planned engineering work until 1230 trains between Watford Junction and St Albans Abbey will not run and rail replacement buses will operate - full details here

Marston Vale Line

No services will operate between Bletchley and Bedford.

Birmingham-Crewe-Liverpool

  • The 0656 Crewe-Birmingham New Street service will not run.
  • The 2136 Birmingham New Street-Liverpool Lime Street will terminate at Crewe.
  • The 2334 Liverpool Lime Street -Crewe will not run.

Birmingham-Wolverhampton

Due to planned engienering work train services between Wolverhampton and Birmingham New Street will operate to a revised timetable - full details here.

Cross City

Due to engineering work train services between Lichfield Trent Valley and Redditch (via BIrmingham New Street) will operate to a revised timetable - full details here.

Birmingham-Walsall-Rugeley Trent Valley

Due to engineering work services between Birmingham New Street and Walsall-Rugeley Trent Valley will operate to a revised timetable. Full details here.

The 2318 Birmingham New Street to Hednesford service will terminate at Walsall, with a rail replacement bus service operating between Walsall and Hednesford.

Birmingham New Street-Worcester-Hereford

The following services will not run:

  • 0626 Worcester Shrub Hill-Birmingham New Street
  • 0709 Hereford-Birmingham New Street
  • 0719 Birmingham New Street-Great Malvern
  • 0838 Great Malvern - Birmingham New Street

Tuesday 6 - Thursday 8 May

Due to planned engineering work the 23.18 Birmingham New Street to Hednesford service will terminate at Walsall (at 23.49).  A rail replacement bus service will operate departing from Walsall at 23.54, Bloxwich at 23.58, Bloxwich North at 23.59, Landywood at 00.04, Cannock at 00.09, arriving at Hednesford at 00.35.

Saturday 10 May

Football - FA VAse Final at Wembley Stadium. Sholing v West Auckland Town, kick off 1500hrs.  Details of services calling additionally at Wembley Central before and after the match here.

Monday 12 May

Due to planned engineering work the following train service alterations will apply :

The 22.56 Lichfield Trent Valley to Longbridge service is retimed to run later between Birmingham New Street and Longbridge - departing from Birmingham New Street at 23.37, Five Ways at 23.40, University at 23.44, Selly Oak at 23.47, Bournville at 23.49, Kings Norton at 23.51, Northfield at 23.54, arriving at Longbridge at 23.58.

Tuesday 13 - Thursday 15 May

Due to planned engineering work the following services will call at Bushey to set down only :

  • 22.34 London Euston – Milton Keynes Central,
  • 23.34 London Euston – Milton Keynes Central,
  • 00.34 London Euston – Northampton (WThFO).

Friday 16 May

Due to planned engineering work the 2334 London Euston to Milton Keynes Central service will call at Bushey to set down only.

Saturday 17 May 

Due to planned engineering work the 0034 London Euston to Northampton service will call at Bushey to set down only.

Due to planned engineering work the 2318 Birmingham New Street to Hednesford service will terminate at Walsall at 2347. A rail replacement bus service will operate departing from Walsall at 2355, Bloxwich at 0004, Bloxwich North at 0010, Landywood at 0021, Cannock at 0033, arriving at Hednesford at 0040.

Sunday 18 May

Due to planned engineering work the 1950 London Euston to Crewe service will not call at Stone, Stoke on Trent, Kidsgrove and Alsager - arriving at Crewe at 2245. A rail replacement bus service will operate departing from Stafford at 2235, Stone (Crown Street) at 2256, Stoke on Trent at 2312, Kidsgrove at 2330, Alsager at 2341, arriving at Crewe at 0001. 

The 0914 Birmingham New Street to London Euston service is retimed to run later between Coventry and Northampton - departing from Coventry at 0945, Rugby at 1004, Long Buckby at 1014, arriving at Northampton at 1026. 

The 1014 Birmingham New Street to London Euston service is retimed to run later between Coventry and Northampton - departing from Coventry at 1044, Rugby at 1101, Long Buckby at 1111, arriving at Northampton at 1122.

Monday 19 - Thursday 22 May 

Due to planned engineering work the 2318 Birmingham New Street to Hednesford service will terminate at Walsall at 2347. A rail replacement bus service will operate departing from Walsall at 2352, Bloxwich at 2356, Bloxwich North at 2357, Landywood at 0002, Cannock at 0007, arriving at Hednesford at 0033.
