Patrick has worked in the rail industries in both the UK and Netherlands for over 15 years. He joined the Go-Ahead Group in December 2007 as Managing Director of Aviance, the aircraft ground passenger and cargo handling agency. He was then appointed as Managing Director of Rail Development in December 2010, before joining London Midland as Managing Director in 2012 where he has held overall commercial and operational responsibility. Previously, he spent more than 10 years with Netherlands Railways in various executive roles before coming to the UK in 2002 to head up the Serco/NedRailways Merseyrail concession in Liverpool. He started his working career as a senior police officer in Rotterdam.
Tom has over 20 years railway experience, and joined London Midland in 2013 having held a number of senior leadership roles in the industry at both National Express Group and First Group. Tom has also worked for infrastructure provider Network Rail and joined London Midland as Operations Director, before being appointed to his current role as Passenger Services Director where he has leads a 1,900 strong team dedicated to delivering the service we provide to our customers every day. Tom is responsible for all operational performance as well as customer service at all stations which has been improving continually over recent years.
Finance & Contracts Director
Ian joined London Midland’s senior management team in July 2014 as Finance and Contracts Director, with responsibility for the company’s financial performance, financial management and reporting. In addition to his financial responsibilities, Ian also oversees IT and Telecoms for London Midland. Prior to joining London Midland, Ian held a number of financial and commercial roles at fast-growing technology companies and also business start-ups. Ian is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Institute of Directors (IoD).
Richard has been in the rail industry since 1979 and has held a number of managerial positions in central support services (including communications and customer relations) and front line customer facing roles. Richard spent over four years as Head of Station Services for London Midland, before moving into his current role at Commercial Director in 2012. He retains responsibility for all commercial aspects of London Midland’s business including ticketing, fares, and additional revenue opportunities. Richard is the executive board sponsor for London Midland’s latest campaign, Travel Made Simple, promoting awareness of the major improvements programme planned or already introduced.
Asset Maintenance Director
Another member of the executive team with significant rail sector, Neil is a leading expert in train design and been involved in complex technical investigations. Neil leads London Midland’s national fleet and asset maintenance teams, ensuring that disruptions to customer rail services are kept to a minimum. Neil is responsible for delivering the company’s asset maintenance service excellence through partnership, innovation and collaboration. He is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer.
