A photograph c1912 of the "unsinkable" four-funnelled ship the RMS Titanic. Part of the White Star Line, Titanic sank off Newfoundland on her maiden voyage to the USA after striking an iceberg (14-15/4/1912). 1513 people lost their lives.   *02/04/02The SS Titanic. The City of Belfast will pay tribute to the man who designed its most famous ship, the Titanic, Tuesday April 02, 2002. Lord Mayor Jim Rodgers will unveil a plaque at the former home of Thomas Andrews, 90 years to the day that the ship left Belfast for Southampton to begin its ill-fated maiden voyage. Commissioned by the Ulster History Circle, the plaque will be unveiled at the house now occupied by the Irish Football Association at Windsor Avenue in south Belfast. A series of events have been taking place in Belfast as part of a festival to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the launch of the Titanic.  02/12/03: A manuscript which describes the final hours of the Titanic by the most senior officer to survive the sinking was today, being auctioned at Sotheby's New Bond Street sale rooms in London. The 17-page unpublished document by Charles Lightoller, the vessel's Second Officer, was going under the hammer with other memorabilia relating to the famous ship. FREE EVENT

4 Titanic And Liverpool: The Untold Story

A compelling exhibition about Liverpool's central role in the liner's ill-fated journey. White Star Line, the company behind the ill-fated Titanic, had its headquarters based in James Street, Liverpool, and so the city's name was carried on the stern of the world-famous ship, which sunk to the depths of the Atlantic in only two hours and forty minutes after hitting an iceberg.

5 Lubaina Himid: Meticulous Observations / Naming The Money

A powerful new exhibition by 2017 Turner Prize nominee Lubaina Himid MBE, alongside 20 figures from her major installation, Naming the Money. The pieces are all by female artists, and are centred around her 1987 series of watercolour drawings, Scenes From The Life Of Toussaint L'Overture.

6 Artist Rooms: Roy Lichtenstein In Focus

Inspired by comic book strips and advertising, New York-born artist Roy Lichtenstein was one of the defining artists of the pop art movement with his satirical and bold paintings. Twenty of his pieces, including In The Car and Reflections On Girl, are displayed, as well as his three-screen installation.

7 Mary Reid Kelley

The South Carolina-born artist's first solo museum exhibition in the UK brings together paintings, performance and black and white stylised videos in collaboration her husband Patrick Kelley. The works use word-play and puns to suggest alternative versions of history and mythology.
